Claims process
Deposition
A deposition is sworn out-of-court testimony given in response to questions from opposing counsel, recorded by a court reporter and usable at trial.
Your attorney will prepare you. The main rules are simple: answer only the question asked, say you do not know when you do not, and never guess.
It is frequently a turning point. A claimant who presents well often moves the case toward settlement shortly afterwards.
