Lawsuit loans in Florida
Getting an advance in Florida
People search for “lawsuit loans in Florida” — but these are not loans. A pre-settlement advance is non-recourse, which means it is repaid only from a recovery in your case. If your case does not recover, you owe nothing, and there is no personal debt to pursue.
To qualify in Florida you need an attorney working on contingency, a claim with identifiable insurance or a solvent defendant, and clear enough liability. We do not check your credit, we do not ask for pay stubs, and being out of work is not a reason we decline — it is usually the reason people call.
The rate is the same here as everywhere else we operate: 25% of the advance for each six-month period, calculated on the original amount and never compounded, with repayment on the advance capped at 2×.
Florida deadlines and fault rules
- Personal injury filing deadline
- 2 years from the date of injury in most cases. Missing it ends the claim regardless of how strong it is.Florida shortened its personal injury limit from four years to two in March 2023. Accidents before that change may still fall under the older four-year limit.
- Workers’ compensation
- Notify your employer within 30 days, and file the claim itself within 2 years. This runs on a separate clock from the personal injury deadline above — do not assume one applies to the other.
- If you were partly at fault
- Modified comparative negligence — 51% bar. You can recover as long as you were not more than 50% at fault. Your award is reduced by your share of the blame.
- Funding law in Florida
- We fund in Florida, on the same published terms as everywhere else we operate. Read the full Florida funding law page.
General information about Florida law, not legal advice. Deadlines have exceptions — claims involving minors, government defendants and injuries discovered late all run differently. Your attorney is the person to ask about your case.
The price
What an advance costs in Florida
The same table as every other state we serve. We publish one schedule because the rate does not vary by state — 25% per six-month period while a case is open, 15% once it has settled — and if the number changed by state, the promise would not mean anything.
