Why do funders advertise "starting at" rates?
Because the advertised rate is a floor reserved for the strongest cases, not the rate most applicants receive. A funder advertising "starting at 2.95%" or "as low as" is quoting its best-case pricing, and applicants typically discover the rate they actually qualify for at signing.
Most funders in this category price on case strength. A clear-liability case with high policy limits gets the advertised number; everything else gets scored upward, and the scoring is not published.
Get Lit Money publishes both of its rates: 25% per six-month period while a case is open, 15% once it has settled. There is no sliding scale and no case-strength adjustment, so the only thing that decides your rate is a fact you already know. That is why we can publish exact numbers rather than a range.
That is not a claim to be cheapest. It is a claim that you can work out your own rate before you speak to anyone, and that it will not move once you do. It is checkable too — ask any funder whether the rate they quoted you is the rate everyone in your situation gets, and whether they will put it in writing before you sign.
