What is the interest rate on a lawsuit loan?

Get Lit Money charges a flat 25% per six-month period on pre-settlement advances and 15% per six-month period on post-settlement advances, charged on the original amount advanced and never compounded. Because it is not a loan and the charge is not compounded, it is more accurate to call it a rate per period than an annual interest rate.

Most funders in this category advertise a monthly rate — 2.95%, or 2 to 4% — which changes the number twelve times a year and compounds in many contracts. Ours changes twice a year and never compounds. Every charge is calculated on what was advanced, not on a balance that has been growing.

There are two rates, and which one applies is decided entirely by whether your case has settled — not by how strong it looks, how much you are asking for, or anything else about you. There is no case-strength scoring and no sliding scale. That matters because most competitors advertise a floor — "starting at", "as low as" — that is reserved for the strongest cases, and most applicants never receive it.

The comparison that actually matters is total dollars repaid at settlement, not the headline rate. Ask any funder for the payoff figure at six, twelve, eighteen and twenty-four months on the exact amount you need, and compare those four numbers.
