How much does pre-settlement funding cost?

Get Lit Money charges 25% of the amount advanced for every six-month period the case stays open, calculated on the original advance and never compounded, plus a one-time $100 application fee and a $100 processing fee. A $2,500 advance repaid inside the first six months costs $825 in total — $625 in charges and $200 in fees.

What fees do you charge?

Two, and that is the complete list: a $100 application fee charged on your first advance only, and a $100 processing fee charged on each advance. Get Lit Money charges no closing fee, no document filing fee, no underwriting fee, no servicing fee, no wire fee and no broker fee. The only thing that grows with time is the published charge per six-month period, which the agreement calls a renewal fee.

What does non-recourse mean?

Non-recourse means the advance is repaid only out of a recovery in your case. If you do not recover anything, you owe nothing — Get Lit Money cannot pursue you, your wages, your bank account, your home or your credit for the money. The one exception is fraud or a breach of the agreement on your side.

Do you check my credit?

No. Get Lit Money does not run a credit check, and applying has no effect on your credit score. The decision is based on the strength of your case, not on your credit history, income or employment.

How fast do I get the money?

Most people are funded the same day they sign. Once you are approved and have signed the agreement, we send your funds by direct deposit. With many larger banks the money shows up right away; with others it can take a business day or two.

What if I lose my case?

You owe nothing. Every Get Lit Money advance is non-recourse, which means it is repaid only from a recovery — if your case does not produce one, the advance, the charges and the fees are all canceled and you keep the money. The one exception is fraud or a breach of the agreement on your side.

Why construction accident claims create a cash gap

Construction injuries usually mean you cannot do the only job you are trained for. Workers' compensation covers a fraction of the wage and nothing of the mortgage, and the third-party claim that actually carries the value takes far longer to resolve than the comp claim.

How long these cases take

The comp claim and the third-party claim run on different clocks. The comp side may resolve within months; the third-party case against a general contractor, subcontractor or equipment manufacturer commonly runs one to three years.
