Cost & terms

What happens if my case takes two years?

At twenty-four months the charge on a pre-settlement advance reaches 100% of the amount advanced and stops permanently. From that point the amount you repay on the advance does not increase again, no matter how much longer the case runs.

That is the 2× cap. A $2,500 advance reaches $5,000 in charges-plus-principal at month twenty-four and stays there — whether the case settles in year three, year five or year seven.

About one in five of our pre-settlement files is still open at day 720 and reaches that cap. It is not a rare event, and we publish it because a cap you routinely honor is worth more than one you advertise and never reach.

The two $100 fees sit outside the cap and never grow, so a capped $2,500 advance repays $5,200 in total.

If your case settles within 30 days of a new six-month period starting, have your attorney ask us before the payoff is issued. A person with authority reviews every file, and we hold the prior rate. It is not applied automatically — your attorney's office has to ask — but when they ask, we do it.
